Evans has one-person art exhibition at ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥'s Bry Art Gallery
Robert Evans, a Professor at Indiana State University, currently has a One-person Exhibition of Drawings featured at the Bry Art Gallery on the University of Louisiana at Monroe campus.
Although he enjoys a national reputation for his sculpture and maintains a gallery connection in New York City, Evans has chosen to mount a drawing show at ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥. He places emphasis on the act of drawing, opposed to emphasizing the finished rendered product. This concept is punctuated by Evans' often-quoted phrase, "drawing is a verb."
In his ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ show, the artist's expressive work includes large figurative, still life and non-objective imagery juxtaposing mixed media aspects of ink, pastels, charcoal, acrylic gesso, graphite pencils, graphite powder, finger paint and scratchboard.
This exhibition will be on view from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through March 2. Professor Evans will deliver an exhibition closing gallery talk at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 2 in the University Bry Art Gallery.
