ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ aviation student honored by Zonta Club of Shreveport
Mandy West, a University of Louisiana at Monroe sophomore majoring in aviation, was recently honored by the Zonta Club of Shreveport with the Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship.
West, from Winnsboro, received the award at the 39th annual Amelia Earhart Aviation Service Banquet in Shreveport.
The Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship Awards support outstanding women pursuing graduate degrees in aerospace-related sciences and engineering. Since the program's inception in 1938 as a memorial to Zontian Amelia Earhart, Zonta has invested more than $4.4 million in 877 fellowships to women from 52 countries.
Zonta International, through its Foundations, supports international service projects and educational fellowships to improve the quality of life for women. The Foundation is supported through voluntary contributions by Zontians, Zonta clubs and friends of the organization.
