ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Faculty Honors 2001

The following ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ events are being held next week (April 16-20, 2001) to celebrate ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Faculty Honors 2001, ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥'s annual celebration of academic excellence and faculty recognition. Should you wish additional information concerning any or all of these special events, please contact either Hank Largin or Georgiann Potts (342-5440).

We will provide the official ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Faculty Honors graphic for your use in publicizing this event.

Promotion and Tenure Reception (Sponsor: Council of Academic Deans) Wednesday, April 18th 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Anna Gray Noe Alumni Center

This reception honors those members of the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ faculty who have been promoted or received tenure status during the past academic year. A list of the faculty to be honored will follow this advisory.

ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ University House Ribbon Cutting and Open House (Sponsor: ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Office of President) Thursday, April 19th 12:15 p.m. Ribbon Cutting 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. Open House and Reception

The University House, former residence of ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ presidents and designed by renowned architect, King Stubbs, was relocated on the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ campus to make way for construction of the new library. The house has been renovated and has become a new campus landmark.

The upper floor is divided into bed-and-bath suites for visiting scholars and other University guests. The lower floor provides meeting space and offices for the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Faculty Senate. If you wish to do a photo review, PA will arrange a "pre-tour" to accommodate photographers and reporters.

Outstanding Professors 2001 Panel Presentation and Discussion
(Sponsor: ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Alumni Association and ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Division of Academic Affairs) Thursday, April 19th 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Harvard Room (Administration Building)

The seven Outstanding Professors for 2001 will present a panel discussion concerning their individual teaching styles and disciplines.

Faculty Honors Dinner (Sponsor: ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Alumni Association)
Friday, April 20th 6:30 p.m.
Monroe Civic Center Conference Hall

A gala banquet sponsored by the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Alumni Association and honoring complimentary reservations.

The Outstanding Professors for 2001 and the cover profile for Res Scholaris 2001. The evening's program will feature a video portrait of each of the professors and the presentation of stipends from alumni representing each of the seven Colleges.

Tickets may be purchased and table reservations accepted by Ms. Nancy Davis at the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Alumni Center (342-5420).
