ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Department of English presents Boethius: Consolation of Philosophy
A series on the experiences of African Americans will be presented by the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Louisiana at Monroe during March Madness.
The first presentation will be a reading from A Life for a Life by Ernest Hill. on Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at 6:00 P.M. in the Conference Center on the seventh floor of the University Library. This presentation is sponsored by the Student Government Association and a reception will follow.
All other presentations will begin at 6:00 P.M. and will be held in the Special Collections Library on the fifth floor of the University Library. Other presentations are as follows: Thursday, March 15, 2001, "Art Exhibition and Lecture -- Performing Arts" by Don Cincone (with reception to follow); Monday, March 19, 2001, "In Search of Creole Identity in Antebellum Louisiana: The Fiction of Michel Seligny, Free Person of Color" by Chris Michaelides; Tuesday, March 20, 2001, "Zora Neale Hurston's, Their Eyes Were Watching God" by Helen Lock; Wednesday, March 21, 2001, "The Enemy Cried No Quarter: The Battle of MillikenÃs Bend, Louisiana, 7 June, 1863" by Terry Jones.
