President of the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Lawson L. Swearingen, Jr., says of White, "Lawrence has had an extraordinary impact on his alma mater not only through his leadership with the Alumni Association but even more so with his leadership in Winn Parish. Lawrence and his wife, Glenda, have both been champions of any endeavors pertaining to ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ in their area. They have been at the forefront in that part of the state and have played a key role in the recruitment of many outstanding students. Lawrence is most deserving of this special recognition."
There were two other winners at the Alumni Dinner. The Alumni Chapter of the Year Award went to the Dallas Fort Worth Chapter with Todd Landrum as their president. The Dallas Forth Worth Chapter has the highest percentage of Active Alumni out of any other chapters.
