ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ faculty member named Outstanding Chapter Advisor of the Year
The national pharmacy fraternity, Phi Delta Chi, recently selected pharmacy faculty member at The University of Louisiana at Monroe, Walter Pierron, as their national "Outstanding Chapter Advisor of the Year".
Pierron was nominated by the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ chapter of Phi Delta Chi and was selected out of 87 other nominees from chapters across the nation. A nomination letter written by Phi Delta Chi member, Brandon Keaster, is what won Pierron the honor. In the letter, Keaster wrote, "He is a leader both inside and outside the field of pharmacy. He has never met a stranger and is a friend to all in need."
"Serving as advisor and friend to the brothers of the Beta Beta Chapter, we will forever remember the impact he has had on us and progress that he has made in advancing the field of pharmacy, " Keaster wrote in his nomination letter.
On this accomplishment, Pierron says, "I was touched and I certainly did not feel I was deserving, but I am very appreciative. The greatest joy I have in teaching is being associated with such fine young people, and if I can touch one life in the practice of pharmacy then it will be all worthwhile."
