ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Spring 2002 Commencement And Investiture

The University of Louisiana at Monroe will hold the spring 2002 Commencement and Investiture on May 18, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ will be conferring the largest number of doctoral degrees in ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥'s history. This is also the first Pharm-D graduating class and one of the largest graduating classes in the history of ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥.

Concurrent with Commencement as part of the program will be the formal investiture and confirmation of Dr. James E. Cofer, Sr., ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ President.

There are three events to which the media is invited. First, there will be a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. in the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Conference Center, 7th floor. The luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Media will have access from 11:30 a.m. until noon for photo opportunities with President Cofer, his family, and invited guests.

The second event will be the Commencement and Investiture from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in Fant-Ewing Coliseum. Media will be issued floor press credentials in order to have access to the coliseum floor area. The Presidential Investiture will occur between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Conferral of degrees will begin at approximately 3:00 p.m.

The third and final event of the day is the reception, following Commencement. This will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Conference Center on the 7th Floor. Here there will be interview and photo opportunities with the graduates and with President Cofer.

Press passes will be issued to all media who wish to attend and cover any of these events. Parking passes will also be available so you will be able to move from one activity to another with ease. Please stop by Public Affairs, located in the Administration building room number 1-32 to pick up passes to one or all of the events. Press and parking passes will be available during office hours on May 14-15 Tues. and Wed., and until noon May 16, Thurs.
