ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥'s Water Ski Team Competes at Nationals

The Collegiate Water Ski National Championships will be held Thursday Oct. 17th through Saturday, Oct. 19th in Austin, Texas. They are hosted this year by Southwest Texas State University. This tournament matches top-qualifying water ski teams from the four National Collegiate Water Ski Association (NCWSA) regions. According to the NCWSA, this year's event is expected to be the largest collegiate national championships in history, with between 350 and 400 athletes from 20 schools competing for individual and team titles.
The 2002 National Championships Series of Events - a string of competitions that began Aug. 3 in Rock Island, Ill., ends this weekend, Oct. 19th, in Austin, Texas. The competitions will feature top male and female athletes from USA Water Ski's eight sport divisions, in addition to ski flying and cable wakeboarding. Athletes have been competing for national titles during the past three-month stretch.

Members of the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Water Ski Team are students Joey Blakley, Matt Curmi, Thomas Degasperi, Olivier Fortamps, Juanita Hernandez, Jason Hutchins, Karen Renee Jaquess, Regina Jaquess, Marjolein Jongepier, James Lefebvre, Tyler McDermeit, Frederico Mineli, Brooke Osis, and Josh Seale.
