ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Offers Largest College Tuition to Pageant Winners

ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ was recently awarded a trophy and recognition by the Miss Louisiana Organization for offering the largest scholarship to its university pageant winners, out of the universities who participate. This is the first year that ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ has won this award.

The total amount of money given to Miss ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥, and the 1st and 2nd runners up was more than $13,000. The total includes scholarships and cash awards. For Miss ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥, the money will pay for next year's tuition, housing, and meals, and included a $2,500 cash award. The 1st runner up received next year's tuition paid in full, and the 2nd runner up received next year's fees paid for.

The ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Campus Activities Board (CAB), who donated upwards of $11,000 to the pageant, hosts the event yearly. "The costs of going to school, and living on campus have gone up," said Duke Johnson, CAB advisor. "We included housing and the meal plan this year because we thought it was important for Miss ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ to be visible. We plan to expand even more in the future." Also contributing to the pageant was the Student Government Association (SGA) who donated $2,000.
