Convocation Will Go On Rain or Shine
As part of the University of Louisiana at Monroe's Week of
Welcome, the 2004 Fall Convocation will go on today, Monday,
August 23rd, come rain or shine. The Convocation is the opening
of ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥'s Academic year. All students are invited to learn the
words to the alma mater, learn more about their university,
and hear encouraging words from faculty, staff and administration.
The schedule will be altered due to weather.
If rain:
-Convocation March at 4:30 cancelled.
-Convocation begins at 5 p.m. in Fant- Ewing Coliseum
-Grovestock begins immediately after Convocation (around
6 p.m.) in the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Activity Center.
If shine:
-Convocation March begins with gathering at the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Library
at 4:15 p.m. and following the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Marching Band, the Sound of
Today, to Fant-Ewing Coliseum at 4:30 p.m.
-Convocation at 5 p.m. in Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
-Grovestock immediately following Convocation (around
6 p.m.). Follow the Sound of Today to the Grove for music, fun
and food.
Other events planned for Week of Welcome (WOW):
Tuesday, August 24
Beach Party and Luau-Natatorium
5:30-7:30 p.m.
Bring a towel and take a dip or hang out on the sun deck
and watch the canoe races on the bayou. This party is sure to
be a hit with Hawaiian food and treats for you!
Wednesday, August 25
Panhellenic Recruitment-Library 7th Floor
5:30 p.m.
Drive-In Movie-Quad Area
9:30 p.m.-until
Bring your blanket and get ready enjoy a great movie sponsored
by CAB.
Thursday, August 26
Panhellenic Recruitment-Holiday Inn Holidome
4:30 p.m.
Back-to-School Pep Rally-Fant-Ewing Coliseum
9p.m. - until
Meet ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ coaches and players from all sports and cheer them
on as they get ready to kick off a great season!
Friday, August 27
ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Spirit Day-ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Campus
ALL DAY
Show your school spirit with maroon and gold! You can win
some great prizes if you are "caught" wearing your
ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ duds.
