ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥'s IAF Gears up For 2004 Campaign Kickoff

The University of Louisiana at Monroe Indian Athletic Foundation (IAF) will be kicking off it's annual fund campaign on Tuesday, June 29 with a party at 4 p.m. in the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Alumni Center.

The IAF is comprised of volunteers who raise funds for scholarships; help finance travel, supplies and equipment; and builds, upgrades and maintains athletic facilities. The IAF operates within the guidelines of the NCAA in all matters dealing with the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Department of Athletics. The IAF was founded in 1956 and later incorporated in 1972.

At this year's kickoff party, the IAF will be honoring eight individuals who have participated in the annual campaign for many years. The honorees are past presidents, Hall of Famers, Team Captains, ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Coaches, and major contributors.

Those to be honored are Cactus Jack Collins, Mariana Burroughs, Bob DeMoss, Mayor Joe Kalil, Joe Erwin, Curtis Nichols, Johnny Huntsman and Coach Bob Groseclose.

The event is open to the public. There will be food, drinks and a short program.
