Reception Held in Honor of ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Graduates
A reception will be held by the Strategies Targeting African American Retention and Transition (STAART) organization in honor of the first African American graduates of ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥, Sarah McCoy Abakwue and Dr. Donald W. Smith. It will be held on April 1 in the University Conference Center on the 7th floor of the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Library at 6:30 p.m.
At this reception, the inaugural McCoy/Smith STAART to FINISH award will be given out. Students and other guests will have the opportunity to speak with McCoy-Abakwue and Smith on the importance of perseverance and tenacity in the pursuit of education.
