President of ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ to Conduct Monroe Symphony Orchestra
As a part of their season of guest conductors, the Monroe Symphony Orchestra is performing this Saturday, May 8th at 6 p.m. in Kiroli Park, in West Monroe. Several ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ professors are involved with the orchestra and for this weekend's event, ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ President James Cofer will be conducting the "Colonel Bogey March." Also on hand will be conductor Israel Getzov of Little Rock, Ark.
The ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ professors who are a part of the Monroe Symphony include: Dr. Chris Thompson, first violin section; Mark McCleary, principal cellist; Myron Turner, associate conductor, tuba, double bass; Marilyn Gibson, principal trumpet; David Gibson, principal bassoon; Dr. Sandra Lunte, principal flute; Victoria Valenzano, flute section; Larry Anderson, principal percussion, tympanist; Dr. Rebecca Dodson-Webster, principal horn; Dr. Robert Blaine, principal trombone; Darryl Wolgemuth, percussion; Dr. Mel Mobley, percussion; Coralie White, piano, keyboards.
