Olin Hall Demolition Timeline
Following is the sequence of events that will occur on Saturday,
September 25 prior to the demolition of Olin Hall on the University
of Louisiana at Monroe Campus.
This is based on weather conditions and crowd control. We will
have special areas designated for media. If you are interested
in filming the implosion, please call for more information on
these locations.
8:00 a.m. Controlled Demolition Incorporated (CDI) personnel
will visually inspect each level of Olin Hall to insure that
the structure is clear of personnel.
8:15 a.m. The University Police Department will set up
barricades and secure the safety area, a 1,000 square foot parameter
around Olin Hall.
8:30 a.m. CDI will check and perform final hook-ups of
electrical circuitry for implosion operations.
8:45 a.m. Seismographs will be set up.
9:00 a.m. Security area will be totally closed to the
public.
9:15 a.m. A command post will be established at a predetermined
location. In attendance will be representatives from CI, Anderson
Excavation, ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ and the University Police.
9:45 a.m. Area security will be checked by University
Police.
9:55 a.m. University Police will confirm that the security
area is clear.
9:58 a.m. Two long sirens will indicate two-minutes to
blast.
9:59 a.m. A 10-second siren will be sounded to designate
that it is 1-minute before the implosion.
9:59:45 a.m. Three 2-second sirens will indicate that it is
15 seconds prior to detonation.
9:59:50 a.m. An audible countdown (10, 9, 8) over a loudspeaker
will be preformed.
10:00 a.m. Implosion of Olin Hall
10:05 a.m. CDI and Anderson will inspect the demolition
area and sound two short signals to designate an "all clear".
10:30 a.m. (approximately) Roads into the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ campus will reopen.
