International Month Events at ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥
During the month of April, faculty and staff will be invited
to mingle with ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ students from 47 countries for April is International
Month.
The "Talent and Fashion Show" is on Saturday, April
23, at the Biedenharn Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Included in the
lineup is a collection of traditional Korean royal family wedding
costumes and artifacts worn by volunteers to demonstrate an authentic
royal wedding ceremony.
The prized garments and artifacts are provided courtesy Mr. Ho-chang
Lee of Houston, Texas. Lee is one of the surviving members of
the Yangban noble class from the ancient Chosun Dynasty (ancient
Korea). He maintains a prolific collection of most authentic
Korean costumes. The South Korean government also appointed Lee
as a National Cultural Treasure, considered the highest honor
for Korean folk artists.
