ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ to Offer Wintersession Beginning in December

Due to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the University of Louisiana at Monroe will offer a Wintersession. Approximately 1000 ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ students were affected by the hurricanes, because of this and the fact that students displaced by Hurricane Rita were not able to register during the fall semester, ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ administrators have chosen to offer a Wintersession.

Wintersession classes will be offered both on-campus and on-line, with a focus on general education courses. They will run December 12 through January 12, and students will be allowed to register for up to 6 credit hours. No classes will be held during the period starting on December 23 and ending on January 1 because the university will be closed for winter break. Final examinations will occur on January 13.

The schedule of classes for Wintersession 2005 will be available on the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ website on October 19, with on-line registration starting November 2 and ending December 7. All students are able to register for this session.

If you prefer another option, you might consider the on-line courses offered during the Sloan Semester (). Other alternatives can be investigated through the Louisiana Board of Regents on their website () or by calling them at 866-415-2269.
