ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Water Ski Team Members Will Be Featured on the Outdoor Life Network

Regina Jaquess will be featured on the GM Vortec Power Hour on the Outdoor Life Network Tuesday, September 27.

Shot on location at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, the program features a day in the life of Jaquess on the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ campus (She is in the Doctor of Pharmacy program), training with the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ ski team on Bayou DeSiard and working out on her Bowflex machine with ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ teammate Ryan Dodd. The program will showcase MasterCraft Boats and Jaquess's 2005 Hendrick Motorsports Special Edition Chevy SS Silverado.

ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ teammate Matt Curmi will be featured on a similar program on September 27 and again on October 4.

On Saturday, September 24 at 8 a.m., the defending National Champion ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Water Ski Team is set to host the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Bayou DeSiard Water Ski Classic. The competition will continue all day Saturday during the daylight and then will resume at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25.

The tournament will be the home event for the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ water ski team, which competes in the South Central Region of the National Collegiate Water Ski Association (NCWSA). Other schools competing in this conference event include the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Texas A&M, Baylor University, University of Texas, Louisiana Tech University, LSU, Texas State University, and Tulane University.

ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ fans are encouraged to come watch as the ski team competes in three events: slalom, trick skiing and jumping. The ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ team currently holds many national and world championships in these events and will be showcasing their skills in the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Bayou DeSiard Water Ski Classic.

The tournament will be free to the public, and concessions and t-shirts will be available for purchase. Spectators will be able to place their chairs, towels and other gear on the side of DeSiard St. opposite the Alumni Center.
