Over 500 Students Expected at Scholars’ Reception
This evening, April 4, the University of Louisiana at Monroe will host the second annual Scholars’ Reception to honor students invited to attend ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ in fall 2006 with academic scholarships. The event will occur from 6-7:30 p.m. in Brown Auditorium.
Over 500 students and their parents are expected to attend. The evening will begin with a casual outdoor reception between Brown and Biedenharn Halls. Each participant will have the opportunity to speak with the academic deans and other university representatives before the presentation begins around 6:30 p.m.
President James E. Cofer, Sr.; Lisa Miller, director of Recruitment/Admissions; and current ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ scholarship students will then address the invited guests in Brown Auditorium. President Cofer will present each student with a ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ medallion. The students will also receive keepsake ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ memorabilia and pictures with President Cofer that will be mailed to them after the reception.
