Judge McCallum to speak at Commencement Dec. 16
University of Louisiana at Monroe alum and District Judge Jay Bowen McCallum will speak at the 2006 Fall Commencement Saturday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. in Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
McCallum ('82), who earned a BBA in economics, graduated from Louisiana State University School of Law in 1985.
McCallum, a former District 12 state representative, is the district judge for the Third Judicial Court in Lincoln and Union Parishes.
One of his many honors include the Louisiana Moral and Civic Foundation "Man of the Year" in 2003. He is a member of the Bernice Lodge No. 239 F. and A.M.; Monroe Scottish Rite Masonic Bodies; Barak Shrine Temple. He is a past president of the Union Parish Chamber of Commerce, and he is a member and past president of the Union Parish Lion's Club. McCallum is also the Chairman of Deacons at the First Baptist Church of Farmerville.
