۽ֱ Cheerleaders Bring Home a Second Place Win at Nationals in Orlando
The University of Louisiana at Monroe Cheerleaders recently scored a second place win at the Universal Cheerleaders Association's College National Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Fla., on Jan. 13.
The team has consistently returned with high placements in the Small Co-Ed Division I category for the past three years. The team has two national championships under its belt from the 2004 and 2005 competitions.
"I am so proud of this squad,” said ۽ֱ Cheerleaders Coach Jennifer Sword. “We only had six returning members on our competition team, and the remaining were freshmen. They worked very hard and came together as a very strong team. They represented ۽ֱ very well, and will be a top contender in the coming years."
The ۽ֱ Cheerleaders are comprised of one squad, including male and female members. The competition team brings 16 members and 4 alternates. The cheerleaders are in charge of cheering at all football games and home basketball games. The ۽ֱ Cheerleaders are also required to compete at one of the major national cheerleading competitions during each season.
