Math Department to Host High School Event

The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Mathematics and Physics Department will host Sonia Kovalevski High School Day Friday, Jan. 27 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The program will be held on the third floor of the Hemphill Airway and Computer Science Building.

The day is designed for female high school students and teachers interested in mathematics. About 50 girls from area high schools will attend this ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ event.

There will be several activities, including a math competition.

ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥â€™s Sonia Kovalevski High School Day is also sponsored by the Association for Women in Mathematics, with funding from Elizabeth City State University and the National Security Agency.
