ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ to Host First Annual Girls and Women In Sports Day
The Louisiana Monroe athletics department will host the First Annual ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Girls and Women in Sports Day Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
First-graders from Cypress Point Elementary School will interact with ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ coaches, student-athletes, faculty and administrators over the lunchtime hour. Students will rotate through skill stations such as volleyball, tennis, and basketball.
The event is being held in conjunction with the 20th Annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Wednesday, Feb. 1. This year's theme is "Count Me In."
The National Girls and Women in Sports Day was chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1986 to honor female athletic achievement and recognize the importance of sports and fitness participation for all girls and women.
