Bry Art Gallery displays fifth of six BFA exhibitions
The Bry Art Gallery in the Division of Art at the University of Louisiana at Monroe is currently showing a two-person Senior Exhibition of Graphic Design by Meredith McDaniel Dixon and Paintings by Rebekah Savage Trahan. This is the fifth of six exhibitions featuring the work of twelve bachelor’s of fine arts recipients.
Dixon is displaying mixed media computer generated landscape, still life and figurative images combined with the written word and printed on paper and fabric. In support of this major statement, the artist is also showing nonobjective acrylic paintings on canvas and panel, and original prints in the form of figurative color woodcuts and landscape etchings.
Trahan is exhibiting portrait, figurative and landscape oil on canvas paintings. Her major statement is supported by mixed media figurative drawings and original prints in the form of figurative lithographs and figurative etchings - some presented on a diptych format.
Both artists were honored with a reception in the gallery July 11. The Dixon-Trahan exhibition will be on view through July 21. The gallery is open from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, and 7:30 - noon on Fridays.
