ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Golf Weekend to begin July 7
The ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Golf Weekend will begin with the Annual Golf Dinner/Auction Friday, July 7 and continue with the Outback Golf Classic Saturday, July 8 at the Pine Hills Country Club.
As tournament participants, each team member and a guest are invited to an auction and dinner Friday evening, July 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fant-Ewing Coliseum. Pairings for the tournament will be announced. Outback Steakhouse will once again present this special dinner, which has grown to be the social event of the year for ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ athletics.
On Saturday, the Golf Classic format will be an 18-hole, four-person scramble with team members of the participant¹s choice. The field will be limited to the first 50 paid teams. The entry fee is $700 per team, and the proceeds benefit the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ golf program. Tee times will be at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Teams will be flighted according to score. Teams in the championship flight are allowed one pro per team. Prizes will be awarded in each flight to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. During the tournament, there will also be prizes for the closest to the hole on par threes and for the longest drive.
An awards presentation will be held immediately following the afternoon round.
Refreshments will be served Friday night and Saturday courtesy of Marsala Beverage and Ouachita Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
For those wishing to attend the auction and dinner but unable to take part in the actual tournament, tickets are $75 per couple.
