Art faculty member's painting accepted in national competition
Robert Ward, an art faculty member at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, has had a painting accepted in a national competition.
"Quarters, Halves, Whole," an acrylic on canvas landscape utilizing a diptych format, will represent the university at the 2006 Annual National Juried Art Competition at the South Arkansas Arts Center in El Dorado.
Artists residing in the United States were eligible to submit in competition two-dimensional art created within the past two years. Entries were jurored by Mississippi artist Mary Anders, who curated the exhibition with what she deemed to be the more superior works. Ward's painting and other accepted works will be displayed in the SAAC Merkle and Price galleries through July 28.
