CBA banquet recognizes outstanding students and faculty
The College of Business Administration (CBA) held its Celebration of Academic Excellence honors banquet Friday, May 5.
Jessica Michelle Crain (Marketing, Monroe) received the top award, $1000 and the Dean’s Award of Excellence.
Justin Bradley Ferguson (Monticello, Ark.) received $750 and the Distinguished Scholar Award.
James Weldon Moore, Jr. (Monroe) received $500 and the Award of Commendation.
Krystal A. Bradshaw (Monroe) received $250 and The Wall St. Journal Student Achievement Award.
Other nominees for the top four college of Business Administration Outstanding Graduate awards were Lindsey Brianne Beverly (Haughton), Corey David Bordelon (Marksville), Maria Virginia Echenique (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Andrew Paul Elston (Shreveport), Krystal Evans Fontenot (Bastrop), Paul Henry Gullette (Monroe), Sven Habenicht (Magdeburg, Germany), William Adam Hanks (Monroe), Tamaro Donyelle Hudson (Delhi), Ashley Irene Jones, (Monroe), Gary Nicholas Kaiser (Crossett, Ark.), Jonathan Reed Kaufman (Franklin, Tenn.), Andreas Lefconikiatis (Limassoi, Cyprus), Heath Ahren Long (Monroe), Amy Michelle Pena (Monroe), James Thomas Perryman (Monroe), Christy Michelle Robson (Conroe, Texas), Andrew Neill Roshto (Monroe), Carrie Ann Skains (Monroe), Laura Ellen Uyeda (Conway, Ark.), Daisy Lynn Work (Delhi).

The Master of Business Administration Outstanding Graduate Awards were awarded to Rahul Solomon (India), Summer 2005; Angela McCray (Grand Prairie, Texas), Fall 2005; and Nicholas Drew Vidrine (Delhi), ÂSpring 2006.
Students in Beta Gamma Sigma, Sigma Lambda Chi, and Upsilon Pi Epsilon were recognized at the banquet. Dean Ronald Berry and the CBA Student Retention Committee also recognized CBA students who were included on the 2005 Fall President’s List and Who’s Who.
Five College of Business students participated in the 6th Annual Student Research Symposium on April 26. First place winner was Kathleen Robinson (West Monroe), and second place winner was Justin Franklin (Sondheimer). Both were recognized.
Seven representatives from the American Honda Finance Corporation in Dallas, Texas, attended the banquet to make a special presentation to the two CBA students who received the Edric Thomas Award of Courage Scholarships: Daniel McMichael (Walker) and Lynlee Wood (Monroe). Thomas was a ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ graduate who died in 2005. Honda Finance decided to set up a scholarship in his honor.
Dr. Kenneth Clow (Marketing) was recognized as the College of Business Administration Outstanding Professor. He was also recognized for his Outstanding Intellectual Contributions. Dr. Mingsheng Li (Finance) was the College of Business Administration Outstanding Intellectual Contributions recipient. Outstanding Intellectual Contributions recognition was also given to Dr. Michelle McEacharn (Accounting), and Dr. Robert Stevens (Marketing).
Dr. Ruth Miller (Computer Science and Computer Information Systems), Mrs. Jacqueline O’Neal (Finance), and Dr. Robert Stevens (Marketing) will retire this summer.
