ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Insurance Society students attend conference in Hawaii
Nine students from the University of Louisiana at Monroe Insurance Society recently attended the International Risk and Insurance Management Society Meeting in Hawaii, accompanied by their faculty advisor, Dr. Christine Berry.
Maria Echenique won the $10,000 Spencer Award, which she will apply to law school. Other attendees were Melisa Gillpatrick, Amy Pena, John Pennington, Amy Parsons, Ryan Wheeler, Miranda Hemphill, Patrick Bayles, and Trey Norred.
"There is no better way for a student of Risk Management and Insurance to learn about the discipline and make valuable industry contacts than a professional conference, and the RIMS Conference is certainly one of the best," said Berry, director of insurance studies. "The industry has always been extremely welcoming of college students and generously supportive of our programs."
The RIMS Conference will be in Louisiana in 2007.
