ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Pharmacy study heralded by major companies
Two pharmacy professors and a recent pharmacy administration graduate have published a research article that has garnered national attention. It has been by cited by major companies such as Pfizer, Inc.
Professors Lesa Lawrence, Justin Sherman, and recent graduate Shravanthi Gandra of clinical and administrative sciences, published a featured research article entitled, "Total and Component Health Care Costs in a Non-Medicare HMO Population of Patients With and Without Type II Diabetes and With and Without Macrovascular Disease" in the September 2006 edition of the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy.
The results of this study demonstrated that macrovascular disease can triple the total medical care costs associated with Type II Diabetes.
