Professor recognized for assistance to Alpha Lambda Delta
Harry Hale, Jr., a University of Louisiana at Monroe professor of gerontology and sociology, received recognition Nov. 1 from the National Council of Alpha Lambda Delta for his valuable work with the honor society for first year students.
Hale and several chapter members attended the organization's National Leadership Workshop in Boston, Mass. Oct. 27-29 for a weekend of training and shared ideas.
"Every year at the national leadership conference, the Alpha Lambda Delta students at ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ match up with the best from all across the nation," Hale said. "Serving as their advisor has been one of the highlights of my tenure at ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥."
"The National Council of Alpha Lambda Delta wishes to share...our appreciation and admiration for the work of Dr. Hale," said Glenda Earwood, executive director. "In an age of declining resources and increased accountability, the close relationship that an advisor has with students is an important factor in student success and retention."
As stated by Earwood, Alpha Lambda Delta has been recognizing academic excellence and encouraging continued success on college campuses for over 80 years.
