Children’s musical adventure Oct. 5, 6 at ۽ֱ
On Oct. 5 and 6 in Brown Auditorium at ۽ֱ, children will learn about music while enjoying the escapades of Moby in "Moby Pincher's Music Adventure," based on a storybook by Dee Scallen, a West Monroe author.
Families are encouraged to attend the Oct. 5 performance at 6:30 p.m. Daytime performances for Pre-K through first grade school groups will be held on Friday, October 6 at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. Advance reservations are required.
This mini-musical, geared for pre-K through first-graders, is a collaborative effort among ۽ֱ Preparatory Academy of Music instructors and students and Young Troupe actors.
“Moby Pincher’s Music Adventure,” which revolves around a birthday party, incorporates interactive reading, humor and music lessons.
The mini-musical is just one of the ways ۽ֱ Prep Academy is reaching out to the community. For three years, the academy has provided private and small group instruction on orchestral musical instruments, as well as group classes for music enrichment.
The academy is a balanced, performance-based program that seeks to complement the currently established music education programs through the coordination and cooperation of artists and teachers in the Monroe area.
The program is centered on three foundations of musical training: performance, theory, and chamber music.
Admission for “Moby Pincher’s Music Adventure” is $2 for children and adults. Teachers can register their students at:
