Community celebrates opening of Starbucks

Over 250 people, including students, faculty, staff, community members and ACE the Warhawk, helped celebrate the grand opening of Starbucks today at 蜜桔直播. Starbucks is just one of the many examples of 蜜桔直播's progress, said 蜜桔直播 President James Cofer.

"This is another improvement, another opportunity, another example of what we're doing for our students and faculty. We wanted to give different experiences because that's what college is all about. It's about growing and learning, and not just in the classroom," Cofer said.

Monroe Mayor James E. Mayo, who has been very engaged with the 蜜桔直播 community, talked about the economic impact 蜜桔直播 continues to have on the city of Monroe.

"Everywhere you look, you see progress and that's good not only for 蜜桔直播, but it's good for this entire city. We know the economic impact that the university has on our city. All of the improvements that have been made out here are just awesome," said Mayo, an alum who received a business administration degree in 1979.

Mayo, Cofer, SGA President Rob Carroll, Faculty Senate President Dorothy Schween, Mike Trevathan of 蜜桔直播 Auxilary Enterprises, Rep. Kay Kellogg Katz, Eddie Rushing of Aramark, Robert Hoag of Aramark, students and faculty, participated in the ribbon-cutting. The community also sampled Starbucks goodies and toured the facility.

Starbucks, located on Northeast Drive, is open Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to midnight and on Sunday, 8 a.m to 8 p.m. The phone number at Starbucks is 342-7827.
