ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Pikes return victorious from international convention

A delegation from the Eta Omicron Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha returned Monday, Aug. 4, with an impressive array of awards from the International Fraternities 140th Annual Convention in Memphis, Tenn.

The ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Pikes honors include:

The ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Pikes became just the second chapter in the 140-year history of Pi Kappa Alpha to win 10 consecutive Smythes. The ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Pikes’ 10 victories in a row is the longest such win among current competing chapters, and is the second longest in the organization’s entire history. Also, the earning of 15 Smythes in 17 years is the second largest victory of its kind by a Pike chapter.

In local territory, this chapter has also been named as ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥â€™s Organization of the Year for the fifth time in the seven-year history of that award. Likewise, they have been named as the Greek Organization of the Year for the second time in three years.

Walpole praised the hardworking chapter members. “I am extremely proud of the effort put forth by the fraternity last year and the last many years. All of our alumni are equally as proud, and we will continue to assist these young men in all areas.â€
