CODI’s 20th annual Spring Conference to occur Feb. 14 – 15
The ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Department of Communicative Disorders will be sponsoring its 20th annual Spring Conference Thursday, Feb. 14 from 2 – 5 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 15 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the Student Union Building.
The Feb. 14 guest speakers will be ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ CODI master’s degree students and their faculty mentors; they will present original research on various topics.
The guest speaker Friday will be Dr. Geraldine P. Wallach of California State University at Long Beach. Her topic will be “Language Intervention for School-Age Students: Myths, Alternatives and the Role of Evidence-based Practice.â€
Wallach has a long history of higher education and public school experience. She has published extensively, teaches university courses, and supervises the child and adolescent clinic at California State University at Long Beach. Wallach is a celebrated public speaker; her presentations at the national conference of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association have reportedly drawn standing room only crowds.
