Fourth Annual Spring Melt Down provides path to weight loss and prizes, beginning Feb. 25
If your goal is to get in shape, lose weight, and win money, the ĂŰ˝ŰÖ±˛Ą Activity Center may provide the answer, courtesy the Fourth Annual Spring Melt Down, beginning Monday, Feb. 25.
This successful program has already awarded $1,455 in prize money and helped nearly 300 people lose a collective 655 pounds and 875.5 inches.
Pre-registration has already begun in the Activity Center Front Office (Monday – Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.), or individuals may register Monday, Feb. 25 at the first weigh-in (Activity Center Lounge from 12 – 2 p.m. and from 4 – 8 p.m.).
Participants must be college age or older. The $5 entry fee will be collected when each individual registers, or when a team of three members registers ($5 each). Everyone will get a detailed information packet, sample programs, and other materials at the initial weigh-in.
This year’s format is expanded to offer online nutrition and physical activity tracking. During this six-week program, participants will receive points for weekly email workshops, online nutrition and physical activity tracking, and losing pounds and inches. After the final weigh-in Monday, April 14, points will be totaled, and first, second and third place winners will be announced in both the individual and team competitions.
Ashley Harper, Wellness Program coordinator, lauded the Spring Melt Down and its benefits. “Participants have nothing to lose but pounds and inches.”
