ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Counseling Center upcoming events for 2008-2009
The ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Counseling Center seeks to promote the awareness of mental health issues, reach out to the community and aid ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ students in problems that might come their way.
The ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Counseling Center serves students primarily, but when time permits, faculty and staff are welcome. Individual, personal, academic, special needs, and substance abuse are some of the counseling services administered at the center.
In the upcoming fall semester, students can look forward to workshops such as:
• The Clock’s Ticking: Time Management Techniques
• Addiction: How to Recognize It and How to Help
• Adjusting to College Life
• Understanding Bipolar Disorder
Many of these workshops are geared toward freshman but all students are welcome.
These workshops are not the only plans for the center. Counselor Denise A. Pani plans to promote Cognitive Processing Therapy for students diagnosed with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. If feedback is promising, students can look forward to seeing this therapy in the fall.
Counselor Steven R. Kelly plans to institute a Men’s Growth Group, which is slated to discuss issues such as direction and purpose in life.
