۽ֱ International Education Expo scheduled for Nov. 19
The University of Louisiana at Monroe International Education Expo, a cultural event intended to open a window to the world, will occur Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the ۽ֱ Student Union Building, Ballroom A, on the second floor.
The event is co-hosted by the ۽ֱ International Education Council and the ۽ֱ International Students Association. Visitors will see artwork, photos, clothing, textiles, tools, and maps illustrating various world regions, as well as a display of the flags of the 51 countries represented by ۽ֱ students.
International students will be on hand to write attendees’ names in Hindi, Chinese, Arabic, Korean, and other languages at different times during the Expo. Samples of some international foods will also be available at 50 cents apiece. Guests may sample a variety of international beverages for free.
Individuals considering studying in another country may visit the Study Abroad table for brochures, a computer database with links to a variety of programs both domestic and abroad, scholarship information, and more.
The celebration is a part of “International Education Week,” established by the U.S. Department of State as Nov. 17-21 this year. IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to recognize the global exchange environment between the United States and other countries.
