Interdenominational Ensemble open for new members; auditions begin Jan. 13
The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Interdenominational Ensemble is open for new members and will begin auditions Tuesday, Jan. 13. Special training is appreciated, but is not necessary.
The group, size varying between 20-23 members, has been in existence on campus for over 30 years and has won awards at several competitions. They specialize in gospel, a capella spirituals, African Christmas carols, and excerpts from black musicals. ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Associate Professor of Voice Louis Nabors conducts, along with ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ graduate Jomain Battles.
Most recently, they performed in concert Sunday, Nov. 23, at Piney Grove Baptist Church in West Monroe.
