David Wilson featured in Leadership Workshop Series Nov. 11
The Leadership Workshop Series, sponsored by the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Office of Student Life and Leadership and the Campus Activities Board, will feature David Wilson Tuesday, Nov. 11, in the Student Union Ballroom at 7 p.m. There is no charge to attend.
According to his Web site, Wilson, a 28-year-old African-American journalist, journeyed into his family’s past to find answers to America’s racial divide. Along the way he met another David Wilson, the descendant of his family’s slave master. This discovery led to a momentous encounter between these two men of the same name but whose ancestors were on the opposite sides of freedom. Through DNA testing, Wilson determined his African roots and returned to his native land.
