۽ֱ art professor participates in competitions and exhibits

۽ֱ associate professor of art Cliff Tresner has been a busy artist this summer and fall, participating in competitions and exhibits, serving on award panels, and receiving awards.

Currently, Tresner’s sculpture and paintings may be seen in the “Past and Present” exhibition at the Arender Gallery, located at 131 N. Second St. in Monroe. The exhibit ends Saturday, Sept. 20.

Tresner has also been selected for a regional public art competition at the Riverwalk Casino and Hotel in Vicksburg, Miss. He will install "Tower of Babel," (shown left) a large-scale steel and light sculpture, at the Riverwalk campus in October.

About Cliff Tresner:

Always active in the visual arts, Tresner was invited to serve on the Louisiana Division of the Arts and the Arkansas Arts Council fellowship panels to award individual visual artists fellowship during the summer of 2008. During this time, he applied for, and was recently awarded, a Career Advancement Grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts in Baton Rouge.

Tresner invites the public to visit the ۽ֱ Campus Sculpture Garden, located on Mitchell Street, to view the new works on display by artists from around the nation and the adjacent Student Sculpture Garden which displays works accomplished by ۽ֱ Division of Art students.

These works are funded through the Campus Activities Board, the Northeast Louisiana Division of the Arts, and from donations provided by Sols Pipe and Steel.
