Redesign conference recognizes success of ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ faculty
The successful redesign of mathematics at the University of Louisiana at Monroe was recently recognized at a conference in Charleston, S.C.
The professional conference, Redesign: Technology and Innovation in Mathematics Education, was sponsored by the Hawkes Learning Systems. ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ faculty were invited to participate based on the success they achieved using the HLS software in college algebra.
Their presentation was entitled “Reversing the Pattern of Low Performance Using Modularity and Technology." The authors are: Dr. A. Dale Magoun, head of mathematics and physics, Dr. Serpil Saydam, associate professor in mathematics, Dr. Charlotte Owens, coordinator of Mathematics Resource Center, and Ms. Elizabeth Smith, instructor of mathematics.
