Beta Alpha Psi members stay active this spring
Five accounting majors have applied for membership in Beta Alpha Psi this spring: Lauren Babb, Ashley Kirby, Oshenell Green, Inwon Byun, and Nu Le. They will be attempting to fulfill the criteria to qualify for induction into full, active membership by the end of the spring semester.
Eleven Beta Alpha Psi members travelled to Irving, Texas, March 5-7, to host the Southwest Regional Meeting of BAP. As hosts they were responsible for planning the topics of the meetings, preparing the registration materials and ensuring all of the logistical requirements of the meeting ran smoothly.
President Katie Robinson welcomed everyone to the event and coordinated the networking social activity Friday evening. Also attending were Vice President of Service Connor Clark, Executive Secretary Joel Ramsey, Treasurer Rachel Stark, Historian Alex Deshowitz, active members Ashlyn Labat, Amber Munholland, Matthew Hollis, Karun Shrestha, and new member candidate Green.
The chapter has been involved in several service projects this spring including helping at the “bank” for the Northeast Cancer League’s auction, the monthly food distribution organized by Stewart and Bonnie Robinette out of the Calvary Temple of the Harvest Church in Monroe, the Muscular Dystrophy Association Stride and Ride, and assisting teachers at Cypress Point Elementary school.
Chapter members encourage everyone to purchase a raffle ticket for $1 each. In March and April, the members are holding a raffle for restaurant gift cards. First prize (valued at $100 +) will be a gift card to five different restaurants, second prize is for three restaurants, and third prize is for two restaurants. Tickets are available from any Beta Alpha Psi member. Proceeds will be used to fund travel to the annual meeting this summer in Brooklyn, N.Y.
