Popular Stepshow March 21 at ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥
Promised to be one of the largest yet, the 2009 ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Step-show will take place Saturday, March 21 in Fant-Ewing Coliseum at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; the show begins at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are $7 and $10 at the door.
Each year, hundreds of families gather to see the stepshow and watch ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Greeks strut, stomp, and step their way to bragging rights in one of the largest annual step shows in the state. The 2009 edition will feature twice the performances, with confirmed appearances by fraternities and sororities such as Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, and Delta Sigma Theta, as well as routines by local area step teams.
For the seventh consecutive year, the NPHC step-show will be hosted by Monroe’s own comedian Robert Powell, who has worked with other comedic greats such as D.L. Hughley, Rickey Smiley, and Cedric the Entertainer.
Children under 10 years of age will get in free with the purchase of one adult ticket, with a limit of one child per ticket.
