The Lambda Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority on the University of Louisiana at Monroe campus celebrated its 35th anniversary in October by planting an oak tree in Scott Plaza. The tree represents the chapterās original 11 members who founded the chapter in October 1974.

Delta representatives say that the tree is just one more way to āgive backā to the ĆŪ½ŪÖ±²„ campus and community.
āThe oak tree will not only beautify our campus,ā Elise Gardner, the groupās parliamentarian, said. āIt will also honor the Lambda Rho Chapter and its legacy.ā
