Honorary Art Fraternity awards scholarship to ۽ֱ students
Two University of Louisiana at Monroe students, Ebony Nicole Johnson and Srdjan Marjanovic, received prestigious scholarships from Kappa PI International Honorary Art Fraternity through their local chapter, Delta Alpha.
Johnson joined the fraternity last fall, and became active in the organization as secretary. She was notified of a second place award after entering an international competition to be recognized in the fraternity’s publication, The Sketchbook.
۽ֱ student Srdjan Marjanovic, who received an honorable mention, admits he always loved to draw, but never thought of art as a viable career choice. He came to the U.S. from Serbia, but was born in Santiago, Chile. Marjanovic brings 10 years of professional basketball experience with him.
"Ebony and Srdjan set great examples for their peers through hard work, perseverance and a dedicated work ethic. The Division of Art faculty are very proud of them and their accomplishments,” said ۽ֱ Associate Professor of Art Cliff Tresner.
