ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥â€™s Jaden Leach prepares for the Miss Louisiana Pageant

Jaden Leach, a ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ elementary education major from West Monroe, is among the contestants vying for the title of Miss Louisiana when the 2011 Miss Louisiana Pageant is held June 23-25 at Monroe Civic Center's W.L. "Jack" Howard Theater. All events will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Leach and the other contestants were introduced earlier this week at the Miss Louisiana Kick-Off Press Conference, followed by a Tuesday luncheon on the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ campus in which Leach enthusiastically welcomed the 34 other contestants.

"I'm so glad you are all here and I know you will agree that ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ is the most amazing, outstanding, superior college that we think it is!" she said.

Leach was crowned Miss ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ in October 2010.

ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ President Dr. Nick J. Bruno also welcomed the contestants and wished them the best.

"I look forward to seeing you all in a leadership role in the future," he said. "Good luck to you and be sure just to have some fun."

Hope Anderson and Erica Durr are two former Miss ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥s who join Leach in vying for the title of Miss Louisiana 2011.

Crain was crowned Miss Louisiana in June 2010 while also holding the Miss ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ title.
