ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Holiday Celebration ushers in fun and festivities Nov. 29

The University of Louisiana at Monroe Holiday Celebration is scheduled for 5 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29 in Scott Plaza.

The public and campus family is invited to attend this fun-filled holiday celebration sponsored by the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Student Government Association. Refreshments are provided.

Starting around 4:45 p.m., Santa Claus will visit the plaza, arriving on the Acemobile and ready with treats for the children. Ace the Warhawk will also be lending a friendly claw in the festivities.

ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ President Nick J. Bruno will flip the switch for the annual tree and candle lighting ceremony.

The choirs of the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Choral Department, conducted by Dr. Deborah Chandler and Assistant Choral Director Jarrod Richey, will join forces with the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Derle Long in a program of holiday favorites.

Adding to the entertainment, ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥â€™s Hawkline will perform a Rockettes-inspired routine.

The event follows the annual Employee Holiday Reception in the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Conference Center from 3–5 p.m., hosted by the president and First Lady Linda Bruno.
