Blessing of the Pets at ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Oct. 4

University of Louisiana at Monroe pets could get the leg up on their animal competition Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. in Bayou Park as the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Catholic Campus Ministry holds the annual Blessing of the Pets.

Regardless of religious affiliation, all faculty, staff and students may bring their pets by for a special blessing, officiated by the Rev. Job Edathinatt.

The custom is connected with St. Francis of Assisi's feast day and reputation as the patron saint of animals.
