Forums on preventing dating violence and sexual assault offered; next forum April 23

The University of Louisiana at Monroe Violence Prevention and Intervention Program will host two events in recognition of April as National Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

The ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ VPIP Sexual Assault Forum will occur Thursday, April 19, at 6 p.m. in the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Student Center, Room 170.

Numerous ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ staff and community agency representatives will be available for this forum to discuss issues related to sexual assault on campus and in the community.

Students, staff members, faculty, and the community at large are welcome to attend.

Also on Monday, April 23, from 1-4 p.m. in the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Student Center, Room 170, dating violence and sexual assault awareness training will be offered to students, staff and faculty members.

This training is designed to provide interested persons with information related to recognizing and preventing dating violence and sexual assault victimization.

The training is provided by Lt. Renee Smith with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office.
