Warhawks earn first-ever bowl bid; tickets on sale now for AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl
In a season of firsts, the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Warhawks football team accepted an invitation to play in the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl, Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 in Shreveport.
The Warhawks' opponent is the Ohio University Bobcats.
Tickets are on sale now through the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Ticket Office, located in Malone Stadium, by calling 318-342-3ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ or
Ticket prices are $47, $37, and $25. Ticket prices for students with a valid ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ student ID are $20, with seating in a special student section.
The Warhawks had their first winning season since moving to NCAA Division I in 1994, with a 8-4 record (6-2 in the Sun Belt,) while winning three out of four overtime games.
The Warhawks opened their season with an 34-31 overtime upset of then #8 Arkansas Razorbacks — dubbed "The Shock in Little Rock" — and turned in solid performances against SEC foe Auburn and Big 12 powerhouse Baylor.
The Warhawks home opener against Baylor on Sept. 27 was watched by a record 31,175 fans in Malone Stadium, with another 12.7 million people watching nationally on ESPN.
The AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl will be broadcast to a national television audience.
