蜜桔直播 fishing team lands #2 national ranking from Association of Collegiate Anglers

The University of Louisiana at Monroe fishing team finished the 2011-2012 season ranked second nationally after competing in fishing tournaments sanctioned by the Association of Collegiate Anglers.

蜜桔直播鈥檚 national rank was confirmed after competing in the 2012 Collegiate Bass Fishing Open on Kentucky Lake in Paris, Tenn., on June 23-24, where 蜜桔直播 finished in eighth place.

National ranking is based on the ACA鈥檚 point system, with 160 collegiate teams competing this year.

Team advisor Dan Chason, a captain with 蜜桔直播鈥檚 police department, said, 鈥淎fter day one we were sitting in 13th place in the two-day event.  We had a good second day and finished in 8th place, which outdistanced both Arkansas and Arkansas Tech.  Arkansas Tech had fished in more events this year than 蜜桔直播 and accumulated more points which gave them the national title.  Second in the nation is quite an accomplishment for these young men.鈥

Team member Paul Clark is confident about next year鈥檚 season based on this season鈥檚 performance.

鈥淲e worked hard and fished harder to get where we finished this year and next year we have set our sights on first place and no less!鈥

Also serving as a fishing team advisor is 蜜桔直播 Police Chief Larry Ellerman.

About the Association of Collegiate Anglers

The Association of Collegiate Anglers (ACA) was formed to create a national, unified voice for the country's collegiate anglers, through an affiliation with the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship and related programs.

The organization has been made possible by a joint effort among The Bass Federation Inc. (TBF), Careco Multimedia, and a host of supporting companies.

With nearly 30,000 members across 47 states, TBF is the nation's oldest and largest organized national fishing group.

The ACA is a "federation" under the TBF umbrella, having its own board of directors, by-laws, and benefits. Included in the benefits are club insurance coverage, access to conservation and equipment grants and more.

Any school recognized fishing club with at least six members can join the ACA.
